Abstract: As outsourcing increases and new regulations such as REACH mushroom, electronics manufacturers are ever more dependent on their suppliers to ensure environmental compliance. They must work with more suppliers and they must collect more compliance data then ever before, making supplier management the ‘Achilles Heel’ of environmental compliance. Increasing adoption of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles that go beyond environmental compliance – issues such as carbon foot print, packaging and labor practices – have placed even more demands on working with suppliers. This presentation will focus about how leading edge companies are deploying best practices and technology for managing EHS issues related to supplier and component qualification.
